Advanced Manufacturing Expo

Industrial Control will host its second annual Advanced Manufacturing Expo at the DeltaPlex in Grand Rapids this year, and has joined forces with West Michigan Works! to hold the largest public show in Michigan showcasing technology solutions and talent for manufacturers and vendors.

The main show will take place on Thursday, August 11th, from 8am to 2pm, with a pre-show the night before from 5pm to 6:30pm. This year, we added a golf outing the day after the show (Friday, August 12th) starting at 8am to benefit First Robotics of Michigan.

We needed more than triple the floor space from last year's show, which was held at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville, in order to accommodate demand from exhibitors representing a wide range of advanced manufacturing technologies, and a job fair for employers that want to attract skilled tradespersons, engineers and other local talent.

Speakers will include Lt. Governer of Michigan, Brian Calley, former CEO and current board member of Perrigo, Michael Jandernoa, Pure Michigan Business Connect, The Right Place, Broadview Product Development, and BlueWrist, Inc.

There isn't a larger show of its type in Michigan, Ermatinger said. "There are a few expos held in the state that address a particular industry such as automotive powertrain, defense work, or contract manufacturing. There are a couple sponsored by large vendors for their customers. But there aren't any this size that are free and open to the public to drive networking among manufacturers, vendors and educational institutions. It's a great place to see new automation first-hand and network with local employers."
